Excellent Book

I just finished reading The Friday Night Knitting Club by Kate Jacobs. This book is such an excellent testament to the depth of friendship. I especially liked the knitting metaphors sprinkled throughout the book. I do enjoy knitting, while I'm not skilled at it, I do find it very calming. I think that one of the passages in the book speak to all crafters and the value of homemade items:

"Every knitter stitches with love, even when they are just starting, all red-faced and frustrated. Why else would we create? Especially in a world that doesn't need homemade anything. That's when we need homemade everything. It doesn't matter if things don't end up just the way you planned. Every moment is a work in progress; every stitch is one stitch closer." (p. 351)
I think with the everyday hustle and bustle of the world it is so nice to sit down and make something yourself. Whether it be a craft, a piece of art, or an excellent meal. I have been so blessed by the support of others in my endeavor to create a business from my crafting that I want to support others who are trying to do the same. I've mentioned before how impressed I've been with the quality of products on Etsy. I am going buy as many Christmas presents as I can from those with Etsy boutiques. I encourage you to look into it too! If you find a great product that you find share-worthy let me know! I will also post about the cool items I discover! Happy Shopping!
